Quinoa Soup is a comforting healthy soup made by pressure cooking a blend of quinoa, spices & basic veggies. Quinoa Soup is relished with bread stick& pepper powder as an appetizer and fairly easy to make.
Quinoa Soup tastes great on its own but to call it a meal we had it with homemade wheat bread and it was so filling. Quinoa is rich in protein and fibre and with loaded vegetables this soup is filling for breakfast.

Quinoa Soup
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup quinoa
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp big onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic roughly chopped
- 1 small sized tomato roughly chopped
- 1 tsp red chilli paste
- 1 small sized carrot roughly chopped
- 2 tsp oil
- pepper powder, oregano just for topping - optional
Instructions
- Get ready with your ingredients. Get the chopping done.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add jeera once it crackles add garlic and onion, sauté for a minute then add tomato. Sauté until raw smell leaves.
- Add red chilli paste, required salt and sauté for few mins.
- Add drained quinoa, give a quick mix then add water.
- Pressure cook for 4 whistles in medium flame. Adjust with water if it is too thick then boil for a minute then switch off. Serve Quinoa Soup hot!
Notes
- You can replace red chilli paste with red chilli powder too.
- The water quantity I have given was apt as we wanted a thin soup. Adjust as per your preference.
- I added pepper powder and oregano while serving.
Quinoa Soup Recipe Step by Step
- Get ready with your ingredients.Get the chopping done.Heat oil in a pressure cooker,add jeera once it crackles add garlic and onion,saute for a minute then add tomato.Saute until raw smell leaves.
- Measure quinoa,rinse it in water atleast twice.Then drain water from quinoa and set aside.
- Add red chilli paste, required salt and saute for few mins.
- Add drained quinoa, give a quick mix then add water.
- Pressure cook for 4 whistles in medium flame.Adjust with water if it is too thick then boil for a minute then switch off.Serve hot!
Serve hot with a sprinkle of pepper powder and oregano.
Enjoy the soup hot hot with a sprinkle of pepper powder and oregano…yumm! We had it with homemade bread and it was such a filling and satisfying dinner.
Expert Tips
