Hard boiled eggs in Instant Pot – a perfect method which is easy and works everytime.

    Pin

We all love boiled eggs except mittu as she is fussy when it comes to eggs,on the other hand gugu is fond of eggs that he can have any dish for egg sake, he loves it so much.I always buy country eggs but attimes when I don’t get it, I end up buying normal white eggs too.

I love boiled eggs with salt and lots of freshly milled pepper.I even like half boil with idli which is one my favorite combo since my childhood.Have you tasted it?! Half boil tastes great with idli, chapathi and dosa.Do try and let me know how you like them.

Before I owned instant I had to note the time to get perfect hard boiled eggs and it was a hassle as I mess up often. With IP in action and a trick you can get perfect hard boiled eggs every single time.

I have followed the popular 5-5-5 method with a slight variation, read on to know the trick I use.The 5-5-5 method uses lots of ice cubes which I usually don’t have in  stock always so tried different methods and finally found this trick to work.

    Boiling eggs without Instant Pot:

Boil water in a sauce pan – let it roll boil.Add the eggs and let it cook for 10 mins in low medium flame.Remove with a tong, add it water and let it rest for few mins. Then tap on the kitchen counter to crack open here and there, put it in water then start peeling. The water enters into the eggs thus making the shells easily peelable.

    • Place the eggs on the trivet like this.
    • Close with lid then press pressure cook mode.
    • Set timer to 5 mins.Pressure cook mode - High setting as shown below.
    • Initially the steel button is down as shown below.
    • After few mins the button will automatically go up as shown below.
    • The timer will decrease and once it reaches 0 it gives a beep sound indicating it has finished.
    • It automatically goes to keep warm mode once the timing is over.
    • Wait for 5 mins then quick release manually but pressing the button as shown below. You can quick release immediately too but I prefer to wait for few mins to get perfect hard boiled eggs.
    • Once pressure is released manually the steel button goes down as shown.
    • Open the lid andthe eggs are done.Use a tong to carefully take out the eggs.
    • Transfer all the eggs to a bowl containing water. Set aside for 5 mins atleast until its warm enough to handle.
    • Tap the eggs on the kitchen counter one by one to break open the eggs here and there and put it inside the water. Repeat to finish. The water enters into the eggs thus making the shells easily peelable.
    • Then start peeling.
    • Peeled eggs ready! You can either gobble up as such or use it for your curries.

    Notes

    • Once the timer is done, you can manually pressure release atonce also but I prefer to wait for 5 mins then release to get a perfect hard boiled yolk.
    • Incase you forget to stand near and manual release and leave it to release by itself then the eggs will be a little hard but edible ofcourse 🙂
