- Make sure not to drain cooked water to retain the nutrients of the veggies.
- You can add a pinch of sambar powder too for extra flavour.
- You can replace green chillies with 1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
- I used fresh veggies, you can use frozen too....In that case you can just cook it along with onion itself no need to precook it.
- Adding tomato sauce gives a nice tanginess to the upma. You can replace it with lemon juice too.

Notes
- You can even add a tsp of ginger garlic paste while sauting onions.
- Also if you dont prefer the masala flavour just ignore the spices and go ahead like the normal upma.In that case you can skip garam masala and add sambar powder.
- Adding tomato sauce gives a nice tangy taste so I prefer adding it. If you dont like the chunky tomato pieces, you can also puree the tomatoes and add it.

I tried to make this. But, my bread became very soggy within 30 mins of preparation. I did made sure all the water from the vegetables and sauce were fully evaporated before i add the bread. I used the Whole wheat bread. Can you tell what i might have done wrong ?
