    About Mango Mousse

    Mango Mousse is a creamy melt in the mouth dessert made using mangoes, whipped cream and sugar. You can use gelatin or agar agar to set the mousse but it is purely optional. Even without it this Mango Mousse Recipe turns out great. Mango Mousse has a smooth and airy texture just melts in your mouth.

    Mango Mousse is a perfect way to enjoy mangoes in its richest form. It is such a refreshing dessert and very easy, quick to make so what are you waiting for?! Do try and enjoy! Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar according to the sweetness of mangoes.

    If you are called in for guests, you can make this mango mousse a  day earlier, refrigerate it and serve it with garnish of chopped mangoes, delicious dessert ready in minutes. Also they will sure to be awed by the deliciousness!

    Mango mousse is usually served chilled and can be enjoyed on its own or as part with just a garnish of chopped mangoes. But you can also make mango mousse tart ot cake too which will sure be a crowd pleaser. It is a popular choice during the summer when mangoes are in season, as you can fully utilize the sweet juicy mangoes.

    Mango Mousse Ingredients

    • Mangoes – Choose juicy sweet mangoes. Alphonso mangoes works best.
    • Whipped Cream – Whipped cream is best for this recipe however you can use fresh cream also but make sure you whip until soft peaks.
    • Sugar – Sugar can be optional if your mangoes are very sweet.

    How to make Mango Mousse Step by Step

    1.Peel the skin and chop 1 big mango roughly. Discard the seed. Take mangoes in a mixer jar. Add 2 tablespoon sugar.

    2.Blend until smooth.

    3.Thick and smooth mango puree is ready.

    4.Spoon mango puree into the serving cup as the bottom layer. You can add 2 tablespoon mango puree in each glass. Fill just a thin layer and refrigerate it for 30 mins.

    5.Meanwhile to a mixing bowl – add 1/3 cup whipping cream.

    6.Beat until fluffy in high speed in your hand mixer.

    7.Just soft peaks is enough.

    9.Add mango puree to it.

    10.Fold in gently.

    11.Mix well until nicely combined.

    12.Should be fluffy and thick.

    13.Mango Mousse is ready!

    14.Now spoon this mixture into it as the second layer.

    15.Fill up with the mixture until the rim of the glass.

    16.Add chopped mangoes for garnish. Chill the glasses at least for an hour before serving.

    17.Refrigerate for an hour and set it.

    Expert Tips

    • I didn’t refrigerate it, clicked the pictures right away, if you set it for an hour or more the texture would be slightly thick.
    • Do not over beat just soft peaks is enough.
    • Adjust sugar as per the tanginess of the fruit.
    • I am really not sure whether hand whisk can be used to whip fresh cream but with what I heard from my friends, it will take time in hand whisk to achieve soft peak consistency.
    • Let it to set in fridge at least for an hour and then dig in.

    Serving & Storing Suggestion

    Mango Mousse tastes great by itself. Always serve chilled as it tastes best. It keeps well in room temperature for a day and for 2 days in fridge.
