Dahi Vada is my favorite. Ever since I tasted the chat style dahi vada at a supermarket I wanted to recreate it at home.I love anything curd based and when it comes to chats, I cannot resist myself. Dahi puri is my favorite and next to it my all time fav is the north indian style dahi vada.

    About Dahi Vada

‘Dahi’ in Hindi means curd and ‘Vada’ is crispy savory snack in donut shape so Dahi Vada means vada in curd. If you have leftover medu vada then making dahi vada is quick and easy, it tastes so delicious.

I had few extra medu vadas the other day and I used them up for this – But if you prefer you can shape them like bondas too. I have many friends asking how to shape vada it comes by practice, I have shared all the tips and tricks I learnt during my medu vada making journey.

    Expert Tips

    • Soaking the vadas in milk + curd mixture helps to avoid sourness.
    • Adding onions to the vada is purely your choice. You can skip it in the vadas and add raw onions while serving too.
    • The amount of green and sweet chutney can be adjusted to our preference. You can make the chaat chutneys ready the previous day and refrigerate to make it handy.
    • I used the remaining medu vadas so used it , you can make them as round bonda balls too.

    Serving and Storage

You can make the chutneys, sev ready. On the day of serving make medu vada and assemble the chat and serve immediately.
