    Christmas cookie truffles recipe

Cookie Truffles is an easy and delicious treat for this holiday season. These cookie truffles are made with mildly sweet biscuits crushed along with ,butter, condensed milk. They are then dipped in white chocolate with sugar sprinkles on it. These truffles are a treat to the eyes especially with kids.

    About Cookie Truffles

Generally cookie truffles is made with sugar cookies, cream cheese then dipped in chocolate. But I wanted to try a version which uses easily available ingredients. As cream cheese is not widely found in supermarkets I chose condensed milk as substitute and it worked really well.

    4 Simple Ingredients

Cookies – Use mildy sweet cookies as condensed milk also has sweetness in it. I used normal bakery biscuits the salt and sweet ones. The cookies should be crumbly easy enough to blend in mixer.

Butter – Use fresh butter, I used homemade butter – melted and used it.

Condensed Milk – You can use store bought or make your own like how I did.

White Chocolate – Use good quality compound white chocolate for best results. I used morde brand.

    How to make Cookie Truffles

    • Blend  : To begin with blend cookies to a coarse mixture. You can pulse few times to make fine crumbs. Add butter nad condensed milk, blend again so that it forms a dough like texture.
    • Roll : Now scoop out and roll into small balls. Arrange in a tray with parchment paper.
    • Melt : Melting white chocolate is easy but you need to know the trick. I melted the chocolate using double boiler method : Boil water in a sauce pan. Keep a heat resistant bowl over the sauce pan. Add white chocolate to it and switch off the flame and leave it undisturbed for 3 mins. The chocolate melts in the steam from the sauce pan. Melt until smooth and flowing.
    • Coat : Now remove the balls from the fridge and then coat it with melted white chocolate. Then place in a parchement and allow it to set.Use a fork to coat as it drips the excess white chocolate easily.

    Variations to Cookie Truffles

    • You can use sugar cookies too but in that case you should use cream cheese for biding may be 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup.
    • You can coat it with dark chocolate too.
    • Add mixed color sprinkles in the biscuit dough itself to make it look more colorful and festive.
    • In addition, you can chopped nuts too.

    Storage

These cookie truffles freezes well. You can put in a ziplock and freeze upto 1 month.  Remove , thaw them and enjoy!
