    Kulambu Milagai Thool is a handy ingredient to make kuzhambu, sambar, gravies, curries and non-veg dishes. Kulambu Milagai Thool is made by grinding roasted spices to a powder and stored in air tight container. Kulambu Milagai Thool enhances the taste & flavour of the dish and hence a must have at home.

    Kulambu Milagai Thool is a multipurpose chilli powder that you can use for sambar,gravies,curries and all nonveg dishes. Kuzhambu Podi Recipe with step by step pictures.

    I got this recipe from my neighbor long back, noted down in my inbox and totally forgot about it.Recently when I was conversing with her through phone(as she has moved to another city), I was again reminded of this kuzhambu podi.When she was here,we used to exchange food and many times she mentioned about this kuzhambu podi which was very new to me so immediately asked for the recipe, she inturn got it from her mother and gave me.Finally after 2 years I get to try this, the aroma itself is so good.

    Kulambu Milagai Thool | Kuzhambu Chilli Powder

    Kulambu Milagai Thool is a handy ingredient to make kuzhambu, sambar, gravies, curries and non-veg dishes.     Ingredients

    • 2 cups red chillies
    • 1 cup coriander seeds
    • 1 tablespoon toor dal
    • 1 tablespoon jeera
    • 1 tablespoon pepper corns
    • 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
    • 2 tablespoon curry leaves

    Instructions

    • Dry roast red chillies until heated up, don't need to change color. Set aside.
    • Now add coriander seeds and roast until browned slightly, set aside.
    • Now add jeera and roast till browned, set aside.
    • Dry roast until pepper pops, set aside.
    •  Roast toor dal until golden, set aside.
    • Now add fenugreek seeds roast for a minute then set aside.
    • Finally add curry leaves and roast till its slightly browned. Make sure to wash it, dry then roast.
    • Now cool down all the ingredients completely then transfer to a mixer jar.
    • Grind to a fine powder, slightly coarse would be good too as it will be more flavorful. Kulambu Milagai Thool Ready!

    How to make Kulambu Milagai Thool Recipe

    1. Dry roast red chillies until heated up, don’t need to change color.Set aside.Now add coriander seeds and roast until browned slightly, set aside.Now add jeera and roast till browned, set aside.

    3. Finally add curry leaves and roast till its slightly browned.Make sure to wash it, dry then roast.Now cool down all the ingredients completely then transfer to a mixer jar.
    4. Grind to a fine powder, slightly coarse would be good too as it will be more flavorful.

    Cool down then store in a clean dry container.

      I really loved this powder recipe. I’m making it regularly for my personal use. But the quantity I make is very less. Recently my mother in law tried this powder and she wants to grind it in a large quantity. Is it possible to share the ingredients quantity in grams ?

        1/2 kg chilli , 1/2kg dhaniya – 1/2 tumbler vendaiyam & 1/2 tumbler toor dal, one hand full of pepper, 1 tbsp jeeragam and 1/2 cup curry leaves
