About Lemonade
Lemonade is one of the most commonly made summer drinks in Indian homes. It is known for its instant cooling effect and fresh taste. Almost every house has its own way of making it, some like it sweeter while others prefer extra tangy. It's handy during summer for a quick drink.
This lemonade recipe feels light and watery, not thick or heavy. Ice cubes make it more refreshing and chilled water gives that instant relief from heat. Lemon slices added on top also gives a mild bitterness which balances the sweetness well. It makes the drink look more fresh and inviting too.
This drink is very simple but still satisfying. Fresh lemon juice gives the main taste and sugar syrup smoothens the sharp sourness. You can also add a pinch of salt or mint leaves for variation, but plain lemonade itself tastes too good with spicy snacks. This works well even without any extra flavors.
I make syrup in advance and store in the fridge. Just mix with water and ice, and it ready in minutes. You can use the syrup for many glasses in a day. You can add sugar or even jaggery for lemonade, have given both the versions.

Lemonade Ingredients
- Lemon - I used fresh lemon juice it gives a clean tangy flavor. You can use big lemons also, just adjust quantity little.
- Sweetener - I uses sugar to make the syrup, it gives sweetness and smooth texture. You can use powdered sugar but syrup method works better. You can even make jaggery syrup and use it.
- Ice cubes - I just add it while serving to make the drink extra cold. You can also crush them slightly.
- Chilled water - I just mix with the syrup to dilute and make the lemonade drinkable.
- Lemon slices - I have used this for garnish and mild extra flavor. You can skip or add mint leaves instead.
