Lemonade Recipe

Lemonade is a simple refreshing drink usually prepared during hot summer days when the heat feels too much to handle. This drink gives instant relief and feels very refreshing. The taste is tangy, mildly sweet and very cooling, making it perfect for all age groups at home. It is the kind of drink you can make anytime without much planning as it is so easy.

Ingredients

  • 2 nos small sized lemon
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • few icecubes
  • chilled water as needed
  • few lemon slices

Instructions

  • Cut the lemons into half and extract juice from it, discard the seeds.
  • In a pan, take sugar. Add water to it. Boil in low flame, stirring occasionally.
  • When the syrup starts to thicken and is sticky switch off. No string consistency just wait till the syrup turns sticky that is enough.
  • Cool down completely then add extracted lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
  • You can refrigerate and store it at least for a month. Now take your serving glasses, ice cubes and chilled water.
  • First add few ice cubes into the serving glass, then spoon sugar syrup say 1 to 2 tablespoon.
  • Then add chilled water, add lemon slices and serve Lemonade immediately.

Notes

  • Sugar syrup – I just make sure to boil sugar and water on low flame only. High flame can burn the syrup and change the taste.
  • Cooling – Don’t add lemon juice to hot syrup. Always let it cool fully or the juice may turn bitter.
  • Sweetness – I usually add syrup little by little while serving. This way you can control how sweet the lemonade have.
  • Serving – I just use chilled water and ice cubes for best taste. Warm lemonade does not taste nice.
  • Storage tip – Store leftover lemon syrup in a clean glass bottle in fridge. It stays good for weeks if handled properly.
