    Aloo Chana Chat is sure a healthy alternative to other chats as its oil free. I usually make the chat chutneys at home a day before so that making chat is very quick and easy. Do try this easy, healthy and filling chat and enjoy!

    About Aloo Chana Chat

    Aloo Chana Chat is a healthy chat made using potatoes, white chickpeas, chat chutneys, spice powders, onion, sev and coriander leaves. This is a guilt free snack that you can have anytime of the day.

    This is one of the easy and quick chat you can make. If you have the ingredients assembling chats is a breeze especially with this chat as just boiling chana, potatoes and preparing chutney is the main task.

    If you are craving for chat in a hurry you can make this and enjoy. It satisfies your chat cravings and is whole some, filling and healthy too.

    Aloo Chana Chat Ingredients

    • Potato – Cook potatoes until soft and mash able.
    • Chana – Soak white chickpeas overnight and cook until soft.
    • Chat Chutneys – Green chutney and sweet chutney is added.
    • Spice powders – Red chili powder, chat masala powder, roasted cumin powders are added.
    • Sev – Add bhuji / sev for garnishing for crunch.
    • Onion – Adding raw onion as garnish gives a nice taste.
    • Coriander leaves – Add chopped coriander leaves for garnish.

    How to make Aloo Chana Chat

    • Soak channa overnight for atleast 6-8 hours.
    • Pressure cook channa until soft, drain water and keep aside.
    • Pressure cook potatoes for 3-4 whistles until soft.
    • Peel off the skin and mash it roughly, keep aside.
    • Now in a bowl add channa and boiled potatoes, combine it with chat masala powder, lemon juice, chilli powder, salt, green chutney, dates chutney and mix well.
    • Finally add onions and garnish with coriander leaves and sev on top. Enjoy Aloo Chana Chaat!

    Expert Tips

    • You can also add raw chopped tomatoes.
    • The recipe is totally flexible to our preference so do experiment and enjoy.
    • You can alternatively use black chana too.
    • This can be served as salad too skipping the chutneys alone

    Serving and Storage

    You can make the chutneys, sev ready. On the day of serving cook chickpeas, potatoes and assemble the chat and serve immediately.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup chana
    • 1 medium sized potato
    • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon chat masala
    • 1 and 1/2 tablespoon green chutney
    • 1 and 1/2 tablespoon dates chutney
    • 1 big onion
    • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves finely chopped
    • 2 tablespoon sev
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    • salt as required

    Instructions
