    About Rose Lassi

Rose Lassi is a refreshing Indian yogurt drink made using thick curd, milk, sugar, rose water, rose milk essence etc. Rose Lassi is very refreshing and perfect drink for summer. This can be had as a mid day drink or can be served as a part of a heavy meal.

I love all lassi varieties and rose lassi is my favorite. I always add rose essence to my lassi and this rose lassi is a complete treat for me. You can use rose syrup or use rose milk essence for making rose lassi based on your preference and availability. There is no much difference in taste so you can use any.

I have tried rose lassi using rose syrup and rose milk essence both turn out great. This rose lassi is a great variation to the regular lassi we have. Rose Lassi is very soothing to tummy and appealing to eyes because of its color. Do try this quick and easy drink and enjoy!

    Rose Lassi Ingredients

    • Curd – Use thick chilled curd which is not sour. Using homemade fresh curd is best.
    • Milk – Use any full fat milk preferably chilled. Boil then chill it before blending.
    • Sugar – You can use regular white sugar or brown sugar too.
    • Rose milk essence – I used rose milk essence which has both color and flavor. You can replace rose milk essence with rose syrup too, in that case skip sugar.
    • Pistachio – Chopped pistachios are added for garnish. You can even add dried rose petals.

    Expert Tips

    • You can add ice cubes while serving or add it while blending too.
    • If you use rose syrup add 1/4 cup and add very little sugar only if needed.
    • Add malai while serving to make it more rich.
    • You can add a pinch of cardamom powder too.
    • You can even replace rose syrup with rooh afza.
    • Add nuts for garnish. I used chopped pistachios, you can use almonds too.

    Serving and Storage

Rose Lassi should be served chilled and fresh! Lassi keeps well for about a day in fridge. I would not recommend storing lassi as it tastes best when had fresh.

    FAQS

1.How long can I store it?

Rose Lassi keeps well in fridge for 2 days but taste sure has a difference so I would recommend to consume it fresh.

2.Can I use rose syrup instead of essence?

Yes if using rose syrup then add 1/4 cup rose syrup and sugar only if needed as the syrup will already have sweetness.
