    About Chocolate Lassi

Chocolate Lassi is a fusion drink that brings together the richness of chocolate with the creaminess of curd. Traditionally, lassi is a simple blend of curd, water or milk, and sugar. But here, it’s elevated with cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and a hint of condensed milk to give it that cafe-style feel right at home.

It’s a great option for summer as it cools down the body and also satisfies sweet cravings. This recipe is great for who loves chocolate but prefers something lighter than milkshakes or ice creams, this is a perfect middle ground. It’s not too heavy, but still rich in its flavor and texture.

You can also adjust the sweetness and chocolate levels to suit your taste. If you want it more intense you can add extra cocoa. If you like it sweeter Just a touch more sugar does the trick. It’s a very flexible recipe, and you can even make it with leftover cooking chocolate or chocolate chips.

I love making this for my family on weekends. The bits of chocolate in every sip, the chill from the curd, and that mild tang make it something we all enjoy. Plus, it takes just 10 minutes to put together, which makes it a go-to in our house.

    Ingredients

    • Curd – The key ingredient which gives a creamy texture and a slight tang that balances the sweetness. Use thick, chilled curd for the best taste. You can also use homemade curd or greek yogurt.
    • Powdered Sugar – Adds sweetness to the drink. You can adjust it according to your chocolate’s sweetness or skip it for a mildly sweet version.
    • Condensed Milk – Adds rich taste to the drink, elevates to a cafe style taste.
    • Cocoa Powder – Adds the chocolate flavor, richness and a hint of bitterness that pairs well with the curd. You can use unsweetened cocoa powder or substitute with hot chocolate powder for a milder taste.
    • Dark Chocolate – Used for added texture and more chocolate flavor. It melts slightly into the lassi, giving occasional bites of chocolate. You can use cooking chocolate, chocolate chips, or even a chocolate bar.

    Expert Tips

    • Chilling – Always use cold, thick curd to get the best texture and taste. You can even chill your glasses before serving.
    • Dark Chocolate – You can use dark chocolate chopped or use melted chocolate too. Chocolate shavings gives chocolate bits in each sip which we love the most.
    • Adjust sweetness – Taste the mixture before blending and adjust the sugar according to how sweet you want.
    • Don’t over-blend – Blend just until smooth and frothy. Don’t over-blend as it can make the curd too runny.

    Serving & Storage

Serve Chocolate Lassi chilled and frothy in tall glasses. Garnish with chocolate vermicelli or a few chocolate shavings.

It’s best enjoyed fresh. If you need to make it ahead, store in the fridge for a few hours. Give it a quick whisk before serving, as curd may separate slightly over time.

    FAQS

    1.Can I use sweetened yogurt?

Yes, you can. If using sweetened yogurt, reduce the amount of added sugar to balance the sweetness.

    2.Can I skip cocoa powder?

No I would recommend adding good quality cocoa powder for best rich chocolate flavor and taste.

3.Can I make this without dark chocolate?

Yes you can skip it, but dark chocolate makes the drink more chocolatey and rich.

4.Is this too heavy for kids?

No, it’s not. It’s lighter than milkshakes and is made with curd, so it’s easier to digest.

5.Can I make this with other flavors?

Yes, you can any flavor of your choice like rose flavor, saffron, mango, pineapple etc.

    • Don’t over-blend – Blend just until smooth and frothy. Don’t over-blend as it can make the curd too runny.

Nice good healthy recipe. Easy and attractive way to give curd to kids with their favorite chocolate taste. Your pictures are so wonderful and you took them so fast I feel. I can see a cute air bubble in first pic ( Just below the gap between to words Chocolate Lassi, a small and medium size semiya ) and the 2nd & 3rd I can see its cute dent alone, All the bubbles and the shot in aerial view really made very attractive and can see how much u r taking care in u r presentation such a attractive way. Well done Sharmi.
