    About Peri Peri Masala

Peri Peri Masala is a spicy indian spice mix so if you are lover of spicy food then you will love it. It has become globally popular these days. Peri Peri Masala can be used in french fries, bread sticks, barbeque chicken, crispy corn and many more such crispy starters.

You can make Peri Peri Masala at home in just 5 minutes if you have the ingredients in hand. I have used most ingredients easily available in pantry. I skipped citric acid alone but tastewise its very close except the slight sourness. But you can add chat masala or amchur powder to get that taste too.

To make Piri Piri Masala –  just crush chilli flakes, onion flakes, dried parsely, oregano, sugar using a mortar and pestle then mix it along with other ingredients like garlic powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger powder, pepper powder, black salt and amchur power.

I always wanted to taste peri peri masala, finally got a pack but it was too spicy especially for kids. So that was the main reason for me to try this at home.

I checked the ingredients list, googled then finally tried this homemade batch. Though I did use few store bought powders to make this, am so satisfied with the taste.

    Variations

    • The orginally recipe may use citric acid to give that slight sourness, I skipped that alone. But as an alternate you can use 1/4 tsp amchur or chat masala powder.
    • If you don’t have kasmiri red chilli powder you can use regular chilli powder but add 3/4 tbsp as it might turn out very spicy.
