    About Chana Pulao

Chana Pulao is one my favorites as it mild and flavorful. Chana Pulao is a milder version of biryani so perfect to pack for lunch box. Chana Pulao can be paired up with kurma or raita though it tastes great on its own too.

Though I make chana biryani often this chana pulao is always my quick fix whenever I am pressed for time. This is a perfect lunchbox recipe too, do try this easy pulao recipe. We had it vegetable kurma and sweet lassi, it was a satisfying lunch.

    Channa Pulao Ingredients

    • Rice – Basmati Rice / long grained rice is recommended for any biryani. However alternatively you can use seeraga samba rice or sona masoori rice.
    • Chana – You can use black or white chana as per your choice.
    • Spice Powders – I have used garam masala.
    • Onion, tomato – Onion, tomato is sauteed and used.
    • Herbs – Coriander leaves is used for flavor and taste.
    • Spices – Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise are used for tempering in oil + ghee.
    • Ginger Garlic Paste – Ginger garlic paste is one of the important ingredient that flavors the biryani and yes use fresh homemade ginger garlic paste which is the best.
