pottukadalai aval urundai

Aval pottukadalai urundai recipe a healthy and tasty ladoo you can try for Karthigai Deepam.

Generally we make appam and pori urundai for Karthigai Deepam. But this year wanted to try something new so tried this aval pottukadalai urundai. I made this for the kids snackbox so thought to post it as Karthigai deepam is tomorrow. All will like this especially kids.

This ladoo has no consistency checks so its easy to try even for beginners.

About this aval pottukadalai urundai recipe:

First dry roast poha, fried gram dal and peanuts in ghee one by one. Cool down then powder it fine. Add sugar and blend well, then add ghee fried cashews and raisins. Mix well and shape them as ladoos.

Variations :

  • You can add white sugar replacing brown sugar.
  • In addition add almonds, pistachios along with cashews.
  • You can use thick or thin aval.
  • I used white aval you can use red poha too.

Storing and Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve aval pottukadalai urundai as a snack or pack it for kids snackbox.
  • It stays good for a week in room temperature itself.
  • Store in a clean dry airtight container for later consumption.
