Apple Fizz is made by adding soda & ice cubes with apple sauce. It is very refreshing and light, perfect to make during summer afternoons or even for small get togethers at home. This drink does not need any fancy ingredients and can be made easily in few minutes if apple sauce is ready.

This apple fizz tastes mildly sweet with apple flavor coming through. The texture is slightly thick because of apple sauce, not like regular juice based drinks. Apple Fizz is nothing but apple soda yes apple juice mixed with soda. I am really not fond of any drink with soda in it but very rarely I feel like drinking it so on one such day made this apple fizz, me and hubby enjoyed it! As summer is already here, I love such chilled drinks.

    About Apple Fizz

Apple Fizz is a non alcoholic drink where apple sauce is mixed with chilled soda and ice cubes. Apple sauce is prepared by cooking apples until soft and blending them smooth. This sauce is then used as a base for the drink. It gives natural sweetness and fruity taste without using artificial syrups.

The flavor of this drink is very fresh and clean. Apple taste is mild, not overpowering, and also the soda adds that light fizz which makes it very refreshing. You can also easily customize and try with different flavors like just a dash of ginger juice or lemon juice for added flavor.

This recipe has a texture that is slightly thick compared to apple juice. Apple sauce in this recipe gives body to the drink. You can reduce the apple sauce quantity and add more soda, if you like thinner drinks. I quickly make this apple fizz, whenever I feel like having something different and refreshing.

I usually make apple sauce in bulk and store it in fridge. It comes handy especially during weekends when kids ask for something cool to drink. It is very mild that is what makes it little different and interesting. Kids will enjoy this drink a lot and it is a good option instead of packaged fizzy drinks.

    Apple Fizz Ingredients

    • Apples - I used for making the apple sauce. It gives nice natural sweetness and mild fruity flavor. Any sweet apple variety will work fine at home.
    • Sugar - I added little sugar just to sweeten the apple sauce. It helps balance the slight tart taste from apples. You can avoid it or replace with jaggery if you like.
    • Chilled soda - I have used for fizz and freshness. It gives the drink nice bubbly feel. You can use sparkling water also.
    • Ice cubes - I add it to the drink for cooling and refreshing. Add as needed depend on weather and taste.

    Expert Tips

    • Apple selection - I use sweet apples for better taste. If apples are sour, you may need to add little extra sugar.
    • Cooking apples - I don't undercook apples. They should be very soft so that sauce blends smoothly without lumps.
    • Sugar adjustment - I keep the apple sauce sweet. You can always add more sugar while making the fizz.
    • Soda handling - I make sure soda is well chilled. Add it just before serving or fizz will reduce.
    • Flavor variations - I try different flavors, you can just add a dash of ginger juice or lemon juice for extra flavor.

    Serving and Storage

Serve this apple fizz immediately after mixing soda for best taste and fizz. This goes well as an evening drink or during parties. Apple sauce can be stored in fridge for up to one week in a clean airtight container. Do not store prepared apple fizz as soda will go flat.
