Murmura chivda recipe a very easy to make and a guilt free snack too as it uses less oil.Crispy and crunchy snack ready in few minutes.As navaratri is fast approaching thought this easy spiced puffed rice mixture recipe would be helpful.

Puffed rice is a versatile ingredient that is made used for making snacks and chaats.

I love the crunch from the nuts and sweetness from raisins.But its really upto you to make it spicy or with a slight hint of sweetness. The south indian version of this is kara pori recipe that I had already posted.

Murmura chivda recipe

Murmura chivda a very easy snack that you can make in just 15mins that can served along with tea.

Ingredients

  • 2 and 1/2 cups puffed rice(pori)
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • 3 tbsp fried gram dal
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds
  • 2 tbsp coconut pieces
  • a small sprig of curry leaves
  • 2 nos green chillies slitted
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • Get ready with all your ingredients.First heat oil and add peanuts and fry until crisp,remove and set aside.Now add fried gram dal and fry until golden,remove and set aside.
  • Add chopped almonds,fry until golden,remove and set aside.Now add raisins and fry until it bubbles up and golden,remove and set aside.Fry coconut pieces.
  • Fry until golden brown,remove and set aside.Now add green chillies and curry leaves and fry until crispy.Now add all other ingredients to the pan and toss them well.
  • Add the spice powder along with salt and sugar.Toss it well for even mixing.
  • Now add puffed rice,toss it well.Switch off.Cool down then store in airtight container.

Notes

  • There is no rule, so plus or minus the ingredients as per your preference.If you like raisins more add it more.
  • I did not have cashews so added almonds.You can add around 15 cashews broken roughly.
