Oatmeal Cookies are tasty, flaky cookies made by baking a blend of flour, oats, raisins & butter. Oatmeal Cookies are healthy compared to the packed biscuits and are ideal for relishing with milk / tea. Oatmeal Cookies Recipe is simple & could be baked in minutes.
I love oats cookies especially the ones with texture.I have been hunting rolled oats but no luck here in stores so tried online but was not ready to buy the huge pack as it was available only in bulk.So bought oatflakes which was looking close to rolled oats and tastes great too.I made these oatmeal raisin cookies using it and the cookies turned out awesome…yes it was a big hit that even mittu who is not fond of textured cookies loved it so much.I am sure going to try this again.
These cookies are soft and chewy in the center with slightly crunchy edges. These can be done in a breeze just mix and bake.Just that the steps look elaborate but trust me it can be done quickly.

Expert Tips
- If the dough doesnt hold together then sprinkle an extra teaspoon of milk.
- If you want chewy cookies then 15mins will be fine. I wanted them crispy so baked for an extra 5mins.The cookies are slightly crispy and crunchy .
- If you dont have demerara sugar use normal white sugar. You can even add the sugar as such as in the orginal recipe.
- I used golden color raisin, you can use any type of your choice.Raisin bubbles up while baking but comes back to normal once the cookies are baked.
- The timing depends on the cookie size and thickness. If you are making a slighter thicker cookie then it might take atleast 30mins to get baked fully, so adjust the timing accordingly.
- You can even make with raisins alone.

Hey I really liked your recipe aof oats cookie a lotI tried my hands on it but, didn’t get it right. I didn’t get the exact dough my mix was bit liquidy. I had to mix more or oats and had to keep it in refrigerator for half and hour or so. Can you suggest something..

You can sprinkle little more flour instead of oats to get the desired consistency.
