    Summer is already in and its so hot and I am  making different popsicles as this is the right time for it. Watermelon popsicle is the easiest popsicles recipe, You only need 3 ingredients! I have made a simple watermelon popsicles with a tangy lemon flavor but there are endless variations that you can try.

    About Watermelon Popsicles

    Popsicles are frozen sweet treat known as ice pops or ice lollies. They are usually made by freezing fruit juices or mil based or yogurt based drinks. Watermelon juice poured into popsicle molds and freezedto make watermelon popsicles.

    Watermelon is one of the most refreshing fruits to have during summer. If it is in the form of popsicles it is double treat for all. Watermelon Popsicles are healthy and super easy to make too.

    If you want you can cut down sugar completely and make the popsicles sugar free. This watermelon popsicle couldn’t be more easier to make. Just blend cubed watermelon, lemon juice and sugar together, pour into popsicle molds and freeze it overnight. Tada the next day your watermelon popsicles are ready.

    Watermelon Popsicles Ingredients

    • Watermelon – Use fresh watermelon cubed, remove the seeds and discard them.
    • Sugar – I have used regular white sugar as sweetener. You can skip it or even add brown sugar or cane sugar alternatively.
    • Lemon – Lemon juice when added gives a tangy flavor to the popsicles.

    How to make Watermelon Popsicle Step by Step

    1.First remove the flesh part from the fruit then cube it. Discard the seeds and the green base part. Add 2 cups cubed watermelon to a mixer jar.

    2.Add 2 tablespoon sugar to it.

    3.Add juice from 1/2 lemon.

    4.Blend until it is a fine puree.

    5.Take your favorite popsicle mold, pour into it.

    6.Close with foil. Slit open using a knife and insert ice cream sticks. Freeze for minimum 8 hours or overnight.

    7.The next day remove the foil and dip the mold in water making sure only the outside of the mold touches water.

    8.Gently pull the popsicles to de-mold easily.

    Expert Tips

    • You can skip lemon juice if you don’t prefer the tangy taste.
    • You can replace honey with sugar or any sweetener of your choice.
    • Remove the seeds and then blend it else it will give a slight bitter taste.
    • Don’t have popsicle molds pour the juice into small steel tumblers or even paper cups and insert small spoons and freeze it.
    • Always pour only till 3/4th and leave room for the popsicles to expand.

    Serving & Storage

    Serve it immediately once you remove the popsicles. You can freeze the popsicles for up to 1 week and have the popsicles.

    1.What are the other variations?

    • Other fruits – You can add other fruits like strawberry. mango while blending.
    • Layered popsicles – Pour one fruit juice freeze it first then add another fruit juice and freeze it to make layered popsicles.
    • Herbs – Add mint leaves or basil leaves for a varied flavor.

    2.How to choose a good watermelon?

    Look for watermelon which is heavy in size. Also look for the spots – if it has darker spots then it is ripe fruit. Choose a melon which has cream colored spots and not white spots. Also while knocking the fruit it should give a hollow sound.

      Nice collection of Popsicle. I am finding difficult in removing from mould, mine dint set even after over night i tried with mango. btw where did you get this mould?

        I got it from Firstcry…Hope you are keeping it in freezer?! Also after showing in running water leave aside for 2-3mins then slowly remove
