    Expert Tips

    • Use slightly coarse milk powder to give a texture to the burfi.
    • Use boiled, warm milk preferably full cream fresh milk.
    • Cook until it comes together as a mass, do not cook more as the burfi will become hard.
    • You can set it in room temperature itself but takes more time so I always set it in fridge.
    • Use a thick bottomed pan, I used my carbon steel pan. You can either use steel pans or nonstick pans. Do not use iron as it gets heated quickly and the chances of burning is high.
    • Grind white granulated sugar to a fine powder and use it.

    Serving & Storage

Milk Powder Burfi keeps well in room temperature for about 1 day and in fridge for 3-5 days. As milk is also used the shelf life is less in room temperature.

    FAQS

1.Can I make this sweet with milk completely?

Yes you can make it the traditional way by simmering whole milk until thick and adding the other ingredients but it involves lot of time and effort.

2.Which milk powder is best to use?

Use mildly sweet slightly coarse milk powder that is available in shops.

3.What can I replace with saffron?

You can use cardamom powder instead of saffron. You can also make other flavors like chocolate, vanilla, rose etc.

Hi.. I have dairy whitener, which is already sweet. Won’t the barfi become too sweet if we add the sugar as mentioned in the recipe
