    About Ginger Shots

Ginger Shots are concentrated drinks prepared by blending fresh ginger with lemon juice and little sweetener. It is not like regular juice which you drink in large glass, ginger shots is served in small glasses only.

The name is 'ginger shots' because it is usually served in shot glasses. This is taken in small quantity because flavor is strong and sharp so it is usually served in 30-60 ml glasses.

Ginger is great for digestive and anti inflammatory problems. It just helps in improving digestion and may support immunity when taken regularly. Lemon adds vitamin C and gives bright taste to the drink. Together it makes a simple but powerful health drink to consume.

The texture is slightly thick and concentrated as water added is very less. You can drink it with the pulp for getting more fiber and extra goodness in it for your body but I usually strain and serve it.

You can adjust the sweetness and spice according to your taste preferences. It is very flexible and easy to customise how you like. You can even use orange juice or amla juice also for health benefits.

I usually prepare small batch and store in fridge for one or two days. In the morning I just shake and pour into small glass. It wakes up the senses immediately.

    Ginger Shots Ingredients

    • Ginger - I have used fresh ginger for strong spicy flavor and warmth, choose fresh and firm ginger for best results. It gives nice heat and strong taste to the shots.
    • Lemon - I just squeezed it for sourness and freshness. It balance the spice and adds vitamin C, you can adjust it as per your taste.
    • Honey - I added this for natural sweetness. It reduce the sharpness of ginger and makes it little smooth, you can use maple syrup also if needed.
    • Pepper powder - I used this for extra heat and spice. It gives a slight kick at the end and makes it more strong, you can reduce it if you want less spicy taste.

    Expert Tips

    • Fresh ginger - I just usually old dry ginger as it becomes too fibrous. Fresh ginger blends more easily.
    • Strain properly - If you want smooth shot, strain well using fine sieve. If you like strong texture you can keep little pulp.
