    Vanilla Cookies Recipe using homemade vanilla sugar. Let us make Vanilla Cookies Recipe with step by step pictures.

    I wanted to try recipes using homemade vanilla sugar and vanilla essence and this one topped the list.Also its been a while since I baked cookies and kids wanted me to bake something so made these recently.

    Do try this, if you dont have vanilla sugar add normal white sugar and add little more vanilla essence.check my notes.

    I used homemade vanilla essence and vanilla sugar for this recipe.

    Vanilla Cookies

    Vanilla Cookies Recipe using homemade vanilla sugar. Let us make Vanilla Cookies Recipe with step by step pictures.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup wheat flour
    • 1/3 cup butter
    • 1/4 cup vanilla sugar plus 2 tablespoon for coating
    • 1 no egg
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt

    Instructions

    • To a mixing bowl add butter vanilla sugar. Cream it well using a hand whisk.
    • Add vanilla essence, I used my homemade vanilla essence. Add an egg.
    • Whisk well then add salt followed by wheat flour and baking powder.
    • Mix well, then gather together to form a dough. Use a tablespoon measure to scoop out for even shaped cookies. Roll it into a ball, coat over vanilla sugar on all sides.
    • While you do this preheat oven at 180 deg C.
    • Slightly flatten it. Arrange on the baking tray lined with butter paper.
    • Bake in preheated oven 180 deg C for 10-12 mins or until the edges turn golden.
    • Cool down completely then store Vanilla Cookies in airtight container.

    Notes

    • I expected the cookies to spread so flattened it only slightly.But it did not spread so mine took time(12 mins) to get baked.
    • If you want thin cookies then flatten more and then bake for 8-10 mins.
    • If you don't have vanilla sugar then replace it with regular white sugar and add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence for more flavor.

        You can add 1/4 cup curd
