    About Vada Pappu

    Vada Pappu is nothing but moong dal salad made with simple basic ingredients available in our pantry. Vada pappu being served as one of the neivedyam for Sri Rama Navami festival.

    Here is rama navami naivedyam spread : Panakam, Neer Mor, Vada Pappu and Kosambari.

    Vada Pappu Ingredients

    • Moong dal – Split yellow moong dal is soaked and used.
    • Coconut – Fresh grated coconut is added as garnish.
    • Green chilli – Green chilli is added to give spiciness to vada pappu.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup split moong dal
    • 1 no green chilli
    • 1 and 1/2 tbsp coconut grated
    • salt to taste

    Instructions

    • Soak moong dal in water for 30mins, strain water. Add green chilli, coconut, salt and mix well. If you prefer add raw mango / cucumber too. Enjoy Vada Pappu!

    Notes

    • You can add grated carrot or cut cucmber along with moong dal to make kosambari.
    • You can parboil moong dal and add it too.

    Vada Pappu Recipe Step by Step
