    About Vada Pappu

Vada Pappu is nothing but moong dal salad made with simple basic ingredients available in our pantry. Vada Pappu is made using moong dal, grated coconut, green chilies and salt. Vada Pappu being served as one of the Neiveidhyam for Sri Rama Navami festival.

There are many variations to this classic version like adding grated raw mango, chopped cucumber etc. Here is Rama Navami Neivedhyam spread : Panakam, Neer Mor, Vada Pappu and Kosambari.

This moong dal salad is a low calorie and protein rich dish as it has no oil or other ingredients also a weight watchers delight because it is low-calorie, protein-rich and has no oil. I love to have this light-on-the-stomach dish for lunch in Summers.
