Rose China Grass Pudding Recipe

I wanted to try Rose Pudding using china grass since the day I made homemade rose syrup, after I made rose jelly I gained confidence in handling china grass / agar agar.Though in the initial days of using agar agar was not a success now I can say it comes out well.As its Ramzan, thought to try and post this easy rose pudding recipe using china grass.I made it only today morning and here I am with this post 🙂

These puddings are not easy to make, it tastes delicious perfect to serve for kids too.

My Notes:

  • Agar Agar sets beautifully in room temperature itself. But if you want you can refrigerate it.
  • You can even set it in individual cups and serve it as such.
  • I used Nilgiris brand china grass.
  • My rose syrup was already sweet so 1/4 cup sugar was just right.
  • Be quick after agar agar mixture is poured, whisk it well then immediately pour to set.
  • You can use any flavour following this method. You can even add fruit purees.

Where do you buy china grass/agar agar? Tried in a few shops in Bangalore and they seem to be clueless.

You just need to run a knife at the edges and it will come out easily. If its still goey and breaks then there must be some issues with china grass or the measure of it.

There must be some problem with china grass then, kindly check the expiry date.
