    What is Masala Milk?

Masala Milk is spiced milk made by simmering milk with nuts, aromatic spices powder along with sweetener and flavored with saffron, nutmeg. It is one of popular drinks during winter as the spices are believed to have warming properties.

It’s a comforting and flavorful beverage that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with your favorite snacks. I prefer to toast the nuts a bit before grinding as it helps in grinding easily and gives a great flavor to the drink.

The first time I tasted Masala Milk was at a restaurant in Chennai. After having a mild dinner I wanted to have something hot that is when this Masala Milk in the menu card caught my attention. It was very mild flavored with chopped nuts and saffron. After few days I tried it at home and it came so good. Since then had been making masala milk often especially during chill nights.

This Masala Milk is an instant version with dry roasting nuts and powdering it. You can double the recipe and make the masala milk powder to store it. I have also posted Masala Milk Mix which you can check out too. I have added both nuts powder and chopped nuts for flavor and extra crunch while drinking.

Masala milk, with its blend of spices and milk, offers various health benefits including warming properties, boosting immunity, gives a good night sleep, rich in nutrients, anti-oxidants etc.
