    About Badam Milk

Badam milk, also known as almond milk, is a beverage made with almond paste, sugar, milk, saffron and cardamom. Badam milk is called as Badam Paal in tamil and Badam Doodh in hindi. This is a healthy and nutritious drink.

The process of making badam milk involves first soaking almonds in water then removing the skin, blending almonds along with cardamom to a paste, this paste is added to boiled milk and simmered along with sugar and saffron.

Badam Milk is one of the healthiest ways to include almonds in our diet. I always make Homemade Badam Milk Powder to make Instant Badam Milk but this badam milk recipe is a traditional one which tastes delicious.

Soaking almonds or badams makes it easy to peel the skin. Badam or Almonds are rich in Vitamin E so including them in daily diet is good. You can even soak 2-3 almonds in water overnight then next day strain water, peel the skin and you can consume it. I love saffron and cardamom flavor the best when paired up with badam so I recommend adding it. You can even check instant badam milk powder that I had posted earlier.

    Short Video

Badam Kheer is often misunderstood as Badam Milk as both of them are different in texture and taste. Badam Kheer is thicker & creamier than Badam milk. To make it simple Badam Milk is a milder version of Badam Kheer.

    Badam Milk Ingredients

    • Badam – Choose fresh almonds. Soaking almonds in hot water makes it easy to peel the skin.
    • Milk – Use full fat milk for best creamy badam milk.
    • Saffron, Cardamom – Use good quality saffron. Saffron adds flavor & beautiful color to the kheer. Kashmiri saffron is one of the best in the world and available in lots in India. Cardamom is also added for flavor.
    • Sugar – I added regular white sugar for this recipe. You can replace it with cane sugar or brown sugar too.
