    Chocolate Bark is a last minute holiday gift that you can make. A very easy 2 layer chocolate bark with dark chocolate, white chocolate and sprinklers perfect for this holiday season! Chocolate Bark Recipe with step by step pictures and video. Layered chocolate bark recipe

    This no bake 3 ingredient chocolate bark is a very easy to make with easily available ingredients in your pantry.

    This chocolate bark is not only easy to make, it is so delicious and perfect to gift for this holiday season. Also this will sure everyone’s favorite desert especially with kids.

    Usually I melt chocolate, pour into moulds and let it set, this looks beautiful and colorful too. Do give a try and let me know how you liked. This is perfect to satisfy the sudden sweet cravings. A crunchy delicious delight!

    To make chocolate bark you will need:

    Just 3 quality ingredients:

    • Cooking dark chocolate 
    • Cooking white chocolate
    • Sprinklers

    How to make chocolate bark :

    • Melt the chocolates : Melting the chocolate needs a bit of practise and is tricky too. Use double boiler method: Boil water in a sauce pan, simmer and place a heat resistant bowl over it. Make sure the bowl should not touch water also in addition the bowl should not have even a drop of water inside. Once you add chocolate do not sir atonce, leave it undisturbed for few mins then start stirring using a whisk. This way you will get perfect melted chocolate verytime.
    • Pour : Pour the melted chocolate onto a parchement paper. Let it set then add next layer.
    • Add sprinklers and set : Finally add sprinklers and set in fridge.

    Variations to this chocolate bark:

    • You can use dark or milk compound for the layers.
    • You can even use peppermint essence or any other flavouring of your choice.
    • The topping is endless, you can use sprinklers, dry fruits, nuts, candies etc.

    Compared to cookies and cakes this takes very less time so do try and enjoy!

    Storage :

    Generally chocolate bark keeps well for about a week in room temperature itself. However if refrigerated or freezed it keeps well for many months.

    Layered Chocolate Bark

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup milk compound chocolate
    • 1 cup white compound chocolate
    • sprinklers as needed

    Instructions

    • To begin with first heat a sauce pan with water.
    • Simmer, place a bowl inside. Make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water in the sauce pan. Also in addition check there is not even a drop of water inside the bowl, it should be completely dry. Add cooking chocolate, I used dark chocolate.
    • Leave it undisturbed for 3 mins then start whisking until chocolate is completely melted. Set aside.
    • After that boil water again in the same sauce pan. Place another heat resistant bowl over it. Add white cooking chocolate to it.
    • Leave it undisturbed for 3 mins then start whisking until chocolate is completely melted. Set aside.
    • Now lay a parchment paper on a tray then pour melted dark chocolate on it.
    • Spread it to a thin layer using a spatula.
    • We have used just 1 cup chocolate therefore around 1/4 inch thickness would be good for this measure.
    • Set in fridge for 10 mins.
    • Now add melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate.It will still be goey only but however if it becomes thick then melt the chocolate again then pour.Can't wait for chocolate bark to get ready!
    • Likewise spread it to a thin layer.
    • After that add sprinklers and silver balls. You can add any topping of your choice. Lastly set in fridge for 30 mins.
    • Gently lift and remove the chocolate bark from the parchment paper.
    • After that place it on chopping board and chop it roughly. You can even break it if you want.
    • Finally layered chocolate bark ready.

    • Use good quality chocolate compound.
    • Make sure you melt the chocolate well otherwise the layer top will not be smooth.
    • Add more crunchy topping for extra texture while biting.
      Furthermore you can even add rice krispies.
    • In comparison to other Christmas recipes this is simple and quick. The only trick is to melt the chocolate perfectly.
    • Add chopped nuts namely almonds, cashews, pistachios etc.

    How to make Chocolate Bark Recipe

    7.Spread it to a thin layer using a spatula.spread to thin layer

    8.We have used just 1 cup chocolate therefore around 1/4 inch thickness would be good for this measure. spread to thin layer

    9.Set in fridge for 10 mins.set in fridge

    11.Now add melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate.It will still be goey only but however if it becomes thick then melt the chocolate again then pour.Can’t wait for chocolate bark to get ready!add white chocolate

    12.Likewise spread it to a thin layer.spread to thin layer

    13. After that add sprinklers and silver balls. You can add any topping of your choice. Lastly set in fridge for 30 mins.Layered chocolate bark recipe add sprinklers

    14.Gently lift and remove the chocolate bark from the parchment paper.

    I am really not fond of chocolates however loved this so much!

    Expert Tips

    The topping ideas are endless you can add any of your favorite dry fruit and nuts.Mittu is not fond of nuts so I made this for her and we enjoyed this fruit and nut chocolate bark. If you like dairy milk fruit and nut chocolate then this is a must try for you, very cost effective and delicious too.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup cooking chocolate chopped roughly
    • 1 tablespoon almonds chopped roughly
    • 1 tablespoon cashew nuts chopped roughly
    • 1 teaspoon pistachios chopped roughly
    • 2 teaspoon tutti frutti

    *I used half of the chocolate for crackle chocolate

    Instructions

    • Chop the chocolate roughly. Take it in a heat proof bowl and place it on a sauce pan containing water.
    • We are going to melt the chocolate using double boiler method. Check here for the pic.
    • Cook until chocolate melts and is gooey.
    • Now toast the nuts for few mins until crisp. Switch off cool down then add tutti frutti to it and mix well, keep it ready.
    • Lay a parchment paper on a plate / tray, spread the chocolate mixture as a thin layer (you can make a thick layer too as per your preference).
    • I used half of the chocolate mixture for crackle chocolate and only half for this chocolate bark, in case you are wondering why the mixture is less 🙂
    • Now sprinkle the nuts mixture and slightly press it with your fingers. Set aside undisturbed for 15-30 mins. You can refrigerate it too.
    • Now the chocolate bark is ready, just break it roughly and enjoy your chocolate bark.
