    Apple Smoothie is a delicious way to include apples for breakfast. With the addition of oats and milk it becomes wholesome and filling too. It tastes more like a dessert and healthy too.

    About Apple Smoothie

    Apple Smoothie is a healthy breakfast beverage made using apples, milk, yogurt, honey, oats flavored with vanilla and cinnamon powder. It is one of the popular smoothie recipes and a must try at home.

    This simple apple smoothie is so versatile that you can grab and add your favorite ingredients into it. Add peanut butter or any soaked nuts of your choice or even add banana to make it more thick and creamy.

    Apples are naturally creamy and tasty so blending it with milk and other ingredients takes it to a whole new level of taste. Apples are easily and readily available through out the year so make this milkshake and enjoy with your family.

    You can use any apple that you have in hand. Sweet and crisp apples are the best for making apple smoothie however you can even use the creamy ones too. To be more specific use honey crisp apples or fuji apples or gala apples or granny smith apples.

    Apples are nutritious and wholesome. They are high in fiber and vitamin C. The most delicious apples are the ones that are sweet with a slight hint of sourness and it will juicy and crunchy too.

    Apple Smoothie Ingredients

    • Apples – You can use any apple of your choice but make sure to check if its not wax coated. But it is always good to peel the skin of apples to be on the safer side. Make sure to choose sweet apples and less acidic.
    • Oats – I have used rolled oats, you can use regular quick oats too. You can toast and add oats too.
    • Milk – I have used cow’s milk boiled, cooled and then chilled. Alternatively you can use packaged milk too. Alternatively add almond or oats milk for vegan option.
    • Honey – To avoid sugar I have used honey and it adds a great flavor when combined with apples.
    • Curd – Add curd for taste and to give a texture to the smoothie
    • Flavor – I have used cinnamon powder and vanilla essence as both goes great with apples.

    How to make Apple Smoothie Step by Step

    1.To a mixer jar add 1 apple(skin peeled and de seeded) along with 2 tablespoon rolled oats.

    2.Add 1 and 1/4 cups milk(boiled and cooled).

    3.Add 1/4 cup yogurt.

    4.Add 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder along with 3 tablespoon honey.

    5.Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence.

    6.Blend well until smooth and creamy.

    7.Apple Smoothie is ready!

    8.The consistency is creamy and slightly thick.

    9.Pour into serving glass and serve!

    Expert Tips

    • Rinse apples well and peel the skin as there might wax coating on the skin.
    • You can soak 4 almonds or cashews in milk and add it. Adding nuts makes the smoothie more creamy and thick.
    • To avoid apples from browning as soon as you cut the apples soak in water with a pinch of salt.
    • You can try other flavors like butter scotch or add peanut butter to this smoothie for a variation.
    • To make it vegan add almond or oats milk and skip yogurt.

    Serving & Storage Suggestion

    Always serve the smoothie fresh! I would not recommend storing the smoothie and serving. Make and consume it immediately after making it to enjoy the best taste.

    Milkshakes are rich and loaded with ice cream and sugar while smoothies are on the healthier side so includes ingredients which are wholesome and filling. Milkshakes can be had anytime of the day while smoothies are ideal for breakfast.

    2.How to avoid avoid apples from browning faster?

    You can delay the process though cannot avoid it completely. Just soak cut apples in a bowl of water with a pinch of salt, keep it well immersed. Instead of salt you can add few drops vinegar too.

    • 1 and 1/2 cups milk (boiled and cooled)
    • 1/4 cup yogurt
