    About Apple Halwa

    Apple halwa is a delicious sweet can be made quickly in no time though it requires patience. The first time I tasted apple halwa was when my neighbor gave me saying she searched here in Sharmis Passions as there was no recipe she ended up trying from else where. It was so tasty had a slight tanginess but I loved it so made up my mind that I should try and post it. This recipe is easy but requires some time and effort to keep stirring until the desired consistency is reached.

    As Diwali is nearing wanted to try out a easy sweet and this halwa came to my mind so tried it immediately.So try this simple and tasty halwa and enjoy!

    Apple Halwa

    Apple Halwa is an easy and tasty halwa to make in less than30 mins. Apple Halwa is made by simmering apple puree with ghee continuously toa halwa consistency. Apple Halwa is ideal to make when we have lesser time in our busy schedule during Diwali & special occasions.

    Ingredients

    • 2 nos medium sized apples
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1 tbsp cashews broken
    • 4 tbsp ghee
    • 1/8 tsp cardamom powder

    Instructions

    • Heat 1.5 tbsp ghee in a pan - add cashews and fry till golden brown, set aside.
    • Puree 2 apples and get it ready.
    • Add this puree to the same pan containing ghee. Mix well and saute for 3-5 mins in low flame.
    • The puree will absorb all the ghee and will the moisture content will go. At this stage add sugar.
    • Mix well until sugar dissolves. Cook for a minute, the mixture will turn gooey.
    • Add 1 tbsp ghee and keep stirring. Cook until it is less sticky.
    • When it starts to stick add remaining 1.5 tbsp ghee, mix well. Ghee will start to ooze out at edges and the whole mixture comes together as a mass without sticking.
    • At this stage add cardamom powder, cashews. Give a quick and switch off. Enjoy Apple Halwa!

    How to make Apple Halwa
