    About Rose Milk

    Rose Milk is made by blending boiled, cooled milk with homemade rose syrup along with icecubes. All you need is just water, sugar, rose essence and pink food color to make homemade rose syrup, you can even make a small batch and use it.

    Traditionally roses are simmered in water then sugar syrup is prepared and the natural rose essence is added to syrup. It is a tedious process so made this quick easy version for this summer.

    Apart from its delicious taste, this drink is also believed to have several health benefits. Rose syrup is known for its cooling properties, and it can help to soothe the digestive system.

    In addition to its health benefits, this is also a popular drink to serve at special occasions like weddings, parties, and festivals. Its appealing pink color and floral aroma make it a festive and celebratory beverage that is perfect for sharing with friends and loved ones.

    Rose Milk Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 1/4 tsp pink food color
    • 1/4 tsp rose essence

    For rose milk recipe:

    • 2 cups milk (boiled, cooled & chilled)
    • 1/4 cup rose syrup
    • few icecubes

    Instructions

    • To a sauce pan add 1/2 cup sugar to it.
    • Add 1/3 cup water to it.
    • Stir continuously to dissolve sugar completely.
    • Once sugar is completely dissolved strain using a metal strainer. This is is to remove impurities if any.
    • Rinse the pan then add the strained sugar water to the pan again.
    • Let it boil in medium flame.
    • Boil well until the syrup becomes thick and sticky.
    • If you touch with fingers it will be sticky and look like oil in consistency.
    • See the syrup has reduced, has become thick and looks oil like in consistency.
    • Now add 1/4 tsp pink food color.
    • Quickly mix it.
    • Now add 1/4 tsp rose essence.
    • Mix it well. Look at the consistency.
    • Switch off. It should be pourable, still thick and sticky no string consistency needs to be checked.
    • Cool down it thickens with time so switch off accordingly.
    • Once completely cooled store in a clean dry contatiner.
    • Close with lid store in fridge. This homemade rose syrup keeps well for about a month.
    • To prepare rose milk add milk, icecubes and prepared rose syrup.
    • Blend until creamy and frothy.
    • Pour into serving glass.
    • Serve with icecubes.
    • For a quick version of preparing rose milk : add rose syrup, add icecubes and chilled milk(boiled, cooled) mix well and your instant rose milk is ready.

    • Icecubes is optional, but I recommend adding it.
    • Adding icecubes makes the drink watery so use thick full fat milk. Server immediately.
    • Use good quality rose essence for best taste and flavour.
    • Use water quantity little less than half of the sugar measure. Say for 1 cup sugar add 3/4 cup water.

    Rose Milk Recipe Step by Step

    This is an alternate quick and instant version with sabja seeds.

    • 1 and 1/2 cups milk
    • 3 drops rose milk essence
    • 3 tsp sugar

    • 5 nos ice cubes optional

      Happy Women's day wishes to you and Amma. Timely seasonal summer special Rose Milk recipe. After school, after play.. its a perfect drink to give for kids too. They love to drink chill milk than normal milk. Your photo's are too much tempting to make it and taste it. Such a perfect pink colour. Small doubt, How long we need to soak the Sabja seeds? Can we cool the milk with seeds or only to be added at the time of serving?
