Ragi porridge is one of first solid food given as it is gluten free. We usually start with ragi porridge made with extracted ragi milk then slow switch over to this instant version which can be done in few mins when you have homemade sprouted ragi powder in hand. But this age old method of making sprouted ragi powder is made from extracted ragi milk which is very good for babies.

    About Ragi Porridge

Traditionally Ragi is the first millet  recommended to be introduced to babies. This ragi milk porridge helps developing babies digestive system before the baby starts with proper solids like idli, rice etc.

I usually feed this koozh with karupatti(palm sugar) syrup or sometimes jaggery syrup .I have a separate post coming up for sweeteners that can be introduced to babies. But it is always good to start sugar and salt after 1 year.

I had many requests to post ragi koozh since the day I started Baby Food Series. I understand this is one of the first proven safe solid foods that you can introduce for your babies.
