Phool Makhana Namkeen
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups phool makhana / lotus seeds
- 2 tbsp almonds chopped
- 1 tbsp cashews chopped
- 1 tbsp raisins
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder roasted
- 1 tsp sugar powdered - optional
- 3 tsp salt to taste
Instructions
- Get ready with all your ingredients. Heat 1 tsp ghee a pan – add the makhana and start roasting it. Roast it in low flame.
- Roast if you want to verify if its done, just pop one or 2 in your mouth it should be crispy then its done else roast for some more time. Transfer to a mixing bowl and set aside.
- Heat remaining 2 tsp ghee in a pan - add cashews roast until golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
- Add almonds roast till golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
- Finally add raisins let it plump then roast until slightly golden, transfer to mixing bowl.
- Add powdered sugar, required salt, pepper and jeera powder. Toss it well.
- Store in airtight container and serve Phool Makhana Namkeen with tea!
Notes
- Though powdered sugar is optional, I strongly recommend adding it.
- You can even add a pinch of chat masala powder.
