    About Chikku Milkshake

Chikko or Sapota or Sapodilla is a fruit widely available in India. There are many variations to this milkshake, I have shared a simple version milk, sapota and sugar which is healthy and can be had anytime without guilt.

Chikko is a juicy and sweet fruit so great for making milkshakes with it. Amma makes chikko milkshakes often as we had a chikoo tree at the backyard. I usually enjoy it as a fruit and at times she makes this milkshake and I just love it.

This chikko milkshake is one of the best ways to introduce chikko fruit to kids. Check for the sweetness of the fruit and use sugar accordingly. This is sure a healthy and tasty alternative to the store bought tinned drinks. Its not only tasty but sure a healthy drink too.

Milkshakes are always my favorite either fruit or flavored ones and this chikku milkshake is my favorite since my childhood.

    Chikku Milkshake Ingredients

    • Chikku (Sapota) – Choose ripe fruit so that is is sweet and juicy.
    • Milk – Use chilled milk. You can even use frozen milk for extra richness and creaminess.
    • Sweetener – I have used honey but you can even use sugar.
    chikku or sapota

How to make Chikko Milkshake Step by Step

    • Blend the chikku with 1/2 cup milk in a mixer for 30 seconds till the chikku becomes blended well.
    • Add the remaining milk, honey and blend for 10 more seconds.
    • Garnish with honey if preferred and serve Chikoo Milkshake chilled!

    Expert Tips

    • Adding sugar or honey is purely your choice but I like the honey flavor in this.
    • You can also add a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and blend it along with the milkshake for a richer taste.
    • Choose ripe sapotas for milkshake.

    Serving and Storage

    • Serve with whipped cream as topping, drizzle honey and serve chilled.
    • You can serve the milkshake with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.
    • Make the milkshake fresh and serve chilled! I would not recommend storing the milkshake as the fresh taste will be lost.
