    Sundal Podi Recipe as we call it is a quite essential one, it can be handy and can be used for sundal varieties and also while making vegetable curries and stir fries.As navaratri is nearing thought to post this sundal masala powder recipe.

    About Sundal Podi

    Sundal is a dry dish prepared usually with lentils or legumes with a mild tempering and garnished with coconut. Lentils or legumes are usually steam cooked or pressure cooked then a tadka is made with simple basic ingredients, with a final garnish of coconut. Sundal powder is a masala powder to add to sundal varieties, curry or any vegetable dishes to elevate the taste of it.

    Sundal varieties are not only prepared for festivals , you can make it for mid morning or evening snack. Sundal is one of the wholesome protein rich healthy snack that you can serve for your family. So make sure to include it in your meal atleast twice a week.

    Sundal Podi | Sundal Powder

    Sundal Podi is a dry masala powder a quite essential item for making sundal. It can be used for many south indian stir fry of vegetables or curries too.

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup coriander seeds
    • 2 tablespoon chana dal
    • 2 tablespoon urad dal
    • 6 nos small red chillies

    Instructions

    • Measure and get ready with all the ingredients. Transfer all to a kadai, dry roast till golden.
    • Cool down and transfer the roasted ingredients to a mixer jar, grind it to a powder little coarse.
    • Cool down and then store Sundal Podi.

    • You can even add a teaspoon of pepper corns and jeera if you are planning to use it for vegetable curries and poriyals.
    • Adjust spice level according to your preference.
    • You can store this for about a month in a dry storage container.
