How to cook pasta with stepwise pictures and video
This post is pending for a long time as few readers have been repeatedly asking me to post how to cook pasta for a long time.I am not fond of pastas but can have it once in a while but hubby loves them especially in white sauces.I have used fusilli pasta here, you can use any type of pasta of your choice like penne,macroni,shell,disc etc.

How to cook pasta with stepwise pictures and video
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups pasta I used fusilli variety
- 3 cups water
- Salt as needed
- few drops oil
Instructions
- Take water in a sauce pan, add salt and oil to it.Boil it.
- When it starts to boil, add the pasta and cook in medium flame.Stir inbetween.
- Keep cooking and make sure you stir inbetween.Cook until it becomes soft but not mushy.It should have the crunch to bite at the same time it will slightly bend,thats the right stage.Switch off and drain water.
- Rinse it well in running water.Strain,Drizzle oil, mix well.Then fluff it up and use it for your recipes.
- Cooked pasta ready
Notes
- Adding oil makes it less sticky.
- Rinse it well then fluff it.
- The timing differs for each variety of pasta.

Method:

We can add a dash of oil to the water.We can pressure cook for 1 whistle alone.
Hi Sharmi, no need to add oil in the water, just salt will do. And never rinse pasta after cooking, just use it straight up -either mixed up with the sauce or whatever you fancy.
