Pepper Turmeric Milk

Pepper Turmeric Milk with step by step photos.Pepper turmeric milk or Milagu manjal paal is a simple recipe to get rid of cold , sorethroat or even throat infection.Pepper and Turmeric are 2 Indian spices which has good medicinal benefits.

I usually make this pepper turmeric milk when I have cold or when the weather is chill.Now that the climate is changing thought to share this recipe as it will be beneficial.Nothing like this pepper milk which soothes your throat, it is also said to control dry cough.This is the best easy home remedy you can make at home!

Pepper Turmeric Milk

Preparation Time:5 minutes | Cooking Time : 5 mins | Makes:2 small cups
Recipe Category: Beverage | Recipe Cuisine: South Indian

Milk – 1 and 1/2 cups
Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
Pepper corns – 1/2 tsp
Palm sugar candy – 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Grind pepper corns, I used my hand mortar and pestle,Set aside.Boil milk till frothy.How to make aloo bhindi- Step1
  2. Add palm sugar candy, then turmeric powder.Let it boil for 2mins.

  3. Then add crushed pepper powder and boil for a good 5mins.Transfer to serving tumbler.

Serve hot!

My Notes:

  • After turmeric powder is added let it boil for few mins atleast to get rid of the raw smell.
  • You can replace palm sugar candy with sugar too.
  • Freshly ground pepper powder gives nice flavour and is very effective too.

    Nice post sharmi.Good remedy for cold and sore throat.In my home we boil pepper powder in water,make it like decotion and add it to milk.also we add jaggery instead of sugar.I love to drink piping hot.

    Wow what a coincidence sharmi. I made some warm turmeric milk today for me since it is too cold here. I dont add pepper, just turmeric and rock candy. This sounds good.
