Oats Cereal Mix | Oatmeal Porridge
Ingredients
- 1 cups oats*
*It is advisable to avoid sweeteners till the baby turns 1 year
For the porridge:
- 2 tbsp oats cereal powder
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp palm sugar powder optional
Instructions
For the cereal mix:
- Dry roast oats for 3-5 mins in low flame. Cool down completely.
- Transfer it to mixer jar and powder it. Cool down for a while then store.
For the porridge:
- Take oats cereal mix in a pan, add water to it and start cooking.
- Cook in low flame. It will start getting thick. Add sweetener if you are adding at this stage.
- Cook till the porridge coats the ladle, adjust consistency according to your baby's preference. Serve Oat Cereal warm!

- Roasting helps in adding flavour to the mix also gives more shelf life.
- Can be stored and used for a month in room temperature
- Keep changing the texture of the food, start with smooth purees and porridges slowly change it to coarse then biting texture so that the baby get used to eat varieties.
