    Oats Cereal Mix is a filling, healthy mix for babies made by blending oats cereal to a powder. Oats Cereal Mix is a handy ingredient to make porridge for 4-7 months babies. Oatmeal Porridge is made by adding hot water to oats cereal mix & stirring to a porridge consistency. Oatmeal Cereal Mix is an instant food ideal to make on busy & travel times.

    It is a myth that giving oats to babies may result in weight loss but it is not true.Oats has the necessary fiber content and rich in protein too.But always consult your pediatrician or follow the 3 day rule before starting any new food for your baby.

    It is advisable to avoid sweeteners for babies under 1 year after 1 year you can add sweetener.

    Oats Cereal Mix | Oatmeal Porridge

    Oats Cereal Mix is a filling, healthy mix for babies made by blending oats cereal to a powder. Oats Cereal Mix is a handy ingredient to make porridge for 4-7 months babies.     Ingredients

    • 1 cups oats*

    *It is advisable to avoid sweeteners till the baby turns 1 year

      For the porridge:

      • 2 tbsp oats cereal powder
      • 1 cup water
      • 1/2 tsp palm sugar powder optional

      Instructions

      For the cereal mix:

      • Dry roast oats for 3-5 mins in low flame. Cool down completely.
      • Transfer it to mixer jar and powder it. Cool down for a while then store.

      For the porridge:

      • Take oats cereal mix in a pan, add water to it and start cooking.
      • Cook in low flame. It will start getting thick. Add sweetener if you are adding at this stage.
      • Cook till the porridge coats the ladle, adjust consistency according to your baby's preference. Serve Oat Cereal warm!

      Notes

      • Roasting helps in adding flavour to the mix also gives more shelf life.
      • Can be stored and used for a month in room temperature
      • Keep changing the texture of the food, start with smooth purees and porridges slowly change it to coarse then biting texture so that the baby get used to eat varieties.

          I used quick cooking oats but you can use rolled oats too

        After roast making powder and storing . When to serve babies is it read to cook it or it can be given directly mixing in milk or water

        Thanks for this recipe. May I know what sweetener do you use? My baby fancies colourful and sweet food (prefers carrots, apples etc to Plain Rice Congee 😀 )
