Amma always stock this up as she adds in south indian poriyals too, so seeing her I also stock it up and roasted cumin powder when added to gravies gives a great flavour.
This quantity lasts for me atleast 3-4 months so I make in small quantity only.

Jeera Powder | Cumin Powder
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup jeera / cumin seeds
Instructions
- To a kadai add jeera roast in low flame. Do not burn cook in low flame.
- Roast until its aromatic and turns golden. Switch off and spread it on a plate to cool down. Cool down completely.
- Transfer to a mixer jar and grind it to a fine powder. Cool down then store.
- Cool down then store Jeera Powder in a dry airtight container.
