Vanilla Mug Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt (optional)
  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence

Instructions

  • To a bowl add ½ cup + 2 tablespoon flour, 3 tablespoon sugar, ¼ teaspoon baking powder and ⅛ teaspoon salt.
  • Whisk it well for even mixing.
  • Add 2 tablespoon melted butter, ½ teaspoon vanilla essence.
  • Add ¼ cup + 2 tablespoon milk to it.
  • Whisk well until smooth without any lumps. Do not over mix. The batter is slightly runny like this.
  • Pour into oven safe mugs. Make sure there is space on the top as the cake will rise a bit.
  • Microwave, in high power for 2-3 minutes. If in OTG Oven : Preheat oven at 180 deg C for 10 mins. Bake in preheated oven at 180 DEG C for 12-15 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  • Add sprinkles and enjoy!
  • Enjoy hot or warm!

Notes

  • I used my OTG for baking and it took around 15 minutes for the cake to get done. Check after 12 minutes itself then proceed as each oven varies.
  • If you are microwaving, the it depends on your ovens high power, so keep and eye after 2 minutes. The texture of the cake might slightly vary if using microwave.
  • You can add chocolate chips in the batter if you like.
  • You can add nuts or tutti frutti or any dry fruits of your choice too.
  • You can easily adapt this recipe and make fun flavors and variations.
