Pizza Sauce Recipe (2 versions)

Pizza Sauce is an easy homemade sauce that can be useful while making a variety of dishes like pizza, pasta etc. Homemade pizza is fresh and full of flavor. Ingredients

Pizza Sauce

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 nos tomatoes
  • 2 nos garlic pearls
  • 2 nos garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • ½ teaspoon crushed pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt to taste

Instant Pizza Sauce

  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • ½ teaspoon crushed pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika powder replace with red chilli powder if you don't have
  • salt to taste

Instructions

Pizza Sauce Step by Step

  • To begin with first choose 5 ripe tomatoes, rinse them well. Trim the edge, chop them roughly.
  • Chop it roughly as shown trimming the edges.
  • Add it to a mixer jar along with 2 cloves garlic.
  • Puree it fine without adding water.
  • It should be fine and smooth.
  • To a pan - heat 2 tablespoon olive oil add 2 garlic minced. Saute for a minute. Do not let it brown.
  • Add the tomato puree.
  • Give a quick mix.
  • Let it boil.
  • It starts to splutter so give a quick mix, close with lid leaving a gap at the edge for the vapor to release. Open and stir on and off.
  • Cook until raw smell leaves and moisture reduces.
  • Add salt to taste, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon chili flakes, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1 teaspoon crushed pepper.
  • Cook until oil floats on top.
  • It should be slightly thick but spreadable. Cool down completely then store in a clean dry jar.

Instant Pizza Sauce Step by Step

  • To a bowl add ½ cup tomato sauce.
  • Add 1 teaspoon chili flakes, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1 teaspoon chopped garlic, ½ teaspoon paprika powder, ½ teaspoon crushed pepper and salt to taste.
  • Mix it well.
  • Quick pizza sauce ready.

Notes

  • I used the regular tomato sauce we buy which is slightly sweet and spicy.
  • Adjust spices according to the sauce you use.
  • You can even saute garlic and add it to the sauce.
  • This keeps well for about a week in fridge.
  • You can add finely chopped onion too but I prefer adding it fresh while adding to pizza / pasta. You can reduce garlic if you want a mild flavour.
  • Spices and seasoning are your choice, you can alter as per your liking.
  • This pizza sauce can be made just before making pizza too as its very quick and easy to make. I had corn in hand so boiled and added it.
  • You can use any vegetable of your choice.
