Peanut Chaat Recipe

Peanut Chaat is a quick chaat made with boiled peanuts, onion, tomato, lemon juice, spices and basic spices, herbs. Looking for a healthy and delicious snack then this peanut chaat is perfect as it is guilt free too. It is easy to make and of course healthy too so do try and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 3 tablespoon onion
  • 2 tablespoon tomato
  • 3 tablespoon pomegranate
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chat masala powder
  • ¼ teaspoon amchur powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves.
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed

Instructions

  • Rinse 1 cup peanuts. Soak in water for 8 hours or overnight.
  • After 8 hours it looks like this. Rinse it again, drain water.
  • Add peanuts to a pressure cooker along with salt to taste, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder.
  • Add around 2 cups water, give a quick mix.
  • Close with lid, put weight and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • Let pressure release, check it is cooked soft. Drain water.
  • Add peanuts, 3 tablespoon onion, 2 tablespoon tomato, 3 tablespoon pomegranate, salt to taste, ½ teaspoon red chilli powder, ¼ teaspoon chat masala powder, ¼ teaspoon amchur powder, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, salt to taste and 1 tablespoon coriander leaves.
  • Mix it well and serve immediately.
  • Serve and enjoy peanut chaat!

Notes

  • Peanuts - I have used boiled peanuts, you can use roasted peanuts too.
  • Spice powders - Plus or minus spice powders according to your preference. You can skip amchoor powder and add garam masala instead. Likewise you can customise the spice powders according to your liking.
  • Variation - You can even add sweet chutney and green chutney if you like.
  • Vegetables - Chop onion, tomato fine so that it blends well with peanuts. De seed tomatoes and add to avoid excess moisture.
  • Serving - Mix everything just before serving, as it tastes best when eaten fresh.
