Oreo Ice Cream Recipe

Oreo Ice Cream is a creamy flavourful frozen dessert made using fresh cream, crushed oreo biscuits and sugar. It is prepared by mixing everything together and freezing until it sets and gets frozen. It does not need much effort to make this icecream but tastes delicious. The ice cream colour looks white with black crushed oreo biscuit pieces here and there making it look appealing.

Instructions

  • To a mixing bowl add milk, then add sugar to it. Add vanilla essence to it.
  • Mix well and set aside. To another mixing bowl, add fresh cream. I used frozen variety.
  • Whisk well until thick and peaks are soft. I used my hand mixer.
  • This is soft peak, if your fresh cream doesn't form peaks its ok just whisk well until its thick that's enough. Add milk to it. Whisk it again. Set aside.
  • Take oreo biscuits add it to a plastic wrap, using a chapathi roller crush it roughly.
  • Add crushed oreo to cream milk mixture. Reserve 2 tablespoon and add the rest of crushed biscuits. Mix well with a ladle.
  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer safe box, sprinkle remaining crushed oreo on top.
  • Freeze until solid or at least for 8 hours. Next day remove from freezer, allow it for 5 mins then scoop and serve Oreo Ice Cream!

Notes

  • Whisking – I whisk the cream until it becomes thick and soft peaks form just make it thick as long as possible.
  • Crushing – I crush the oreo biscuits roughly using rolling pin or hand, small chunks give better bite than fine powder.
  • Freezing – Freeze for minimum 8 hours or overnight for best set. Less time may make it soft and not firm.
  • Serving – Keep outside for few minutes before scooping. It makes scooping easy and smooth.
  • Storage – Store in airtight box to avoid ice crystals. It stays good for few days in freezer if handled properly.
