To a mixer jar add all the ingredients listed under 'to grind' to a coarse paste. Set aside.
To a pressure cooker heat oil - add the items listed under 'to temper' add garlic, onion along with salt.
Saute till onions become translucent. Add tomatoes saute well.
Cook covered for 2-3 mins until it becomes mushy. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Saute for 2 mins.
Then add cleaned mutton, saute for 2mins. Then add water till immersing level(little above).
Pressure cook for 8 whistles in medium high. Let pressure release by itself.
Open and check if mutton is cooked and add coconut paste
Rinse the mixie and add the water too. Mix well and boil until oil separates. It will take at least 10 mins in low flame.
Add tamarind water and let it boil for a minute then add coriander leaves, mix well and switch off.
Serve Mutton Kulambu hot with idli, rice, chapathi etc.
