Mango Mojito Recipe

Mango Mojito is a cooling summer drink made using ripe mango puree, lemon, mint and lot of ice. It is very refreshing and feels soothing when the weather is too hot. The taste is mildly sweet with slight tang and strong mint flavor. It also keeps you hydrated during peak summer days which is really needed.

Ingredients

  • 1 small sized mango
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 10-12 nos small ice cubes
  • 4 small size lemon wedges
  • 10 nos mint leaves
  • few sprigs mint
  • 1 cup chilled water

Instructions

  • Peel the skin from mangoes. Chop it roughly. Transfer to a mixer jar.
  • Add sugar to it and puree it until smooth. Now take ice cubes in a thick turkey towel.
  • Using a hand mortar and pestle crush it roughly. Now get ready with all your ingredients.
  • Take your serving glass - first add 2-3 small lemon wedges, add few mint leaves. Muddle well with a back of a ladle.
  • Muddle so that the juice is extracted. Now add 2-3 tablespoon of mango puree.
  • Mix well with a spoon. Add a tablespoon of crushed ice.
  • And finally add water, mix well with a spoon. Serve immediately with a mint sprig and a lemon slice. Enjoy Mango Mojito!

Notes

  • Mango – I make sure to use ripe and sweet mangoes only. Sour mango will spoil the taste, so always taste before using.
  • Crushing Mint – I try not to crush mint too much as it can become bitter.  I just press gently so flavor gets released.
  • Crushed ice – I usually crush ice using a towel and pestle. It just chills the drink faster and mixes well with mango puree.
  • Adjusting taste – I always mix and taste the drink before adding full water. You can easily fix sweetness or lemon at this stage.
  • Flavors – You also use different fruit juice for a different flavor, you can try passion fruit or litchi for a unique taste.
