Homemade Crackers are crunchy and savoury baked snacks made with flour, butter and simple seasoning ingredients. These crackers have crisp texture with mild spicy flavour and taste good with tea or coffee. It is made with basic pantry ingredients and the preparation also does not take much time. The crackers bake with golden edges and have crisp and flaky texture.
To a mixing bowl add wheat flour, then butter. Add pizza seasoning and oregano. If you don't have pizza seasoning - combine chilli flakes and mixed herbs (which comes with pizza when we buy outside) and then add it.
Add required salt and oil. Mix well until it resembles bread crumbs. Then add chill water little by little.
Knead to a stiff dough just like our chapati dough. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Then knead again and roll over a baking sheet.
Cut the edges to form a square, remove the edges. Prick with fork. While you do this preheat oven at 200 deg C for 10 minutes.
Cut into small squares. Lay butter paper on the tray. Arrange the crackers on butter paper.
Bake in preheated oven at 200 deg C for 12- 15 minutes or until golden. Do not over bake then the crackers will become hard.
Cool on wire rack then store in a clean dry airtight container. Enjoy Pizza Crackers!

Notes
Roll Thin – I usually roll the dough very thin so the crackers become evenly crisp after baking. Thick crackers may stay soft in centre.
Prick Well – You can prick the crackers using fork before baking. This helps to avoid puffing while baking in oven.
Use Butter Paper – I have used butter paper while rolling which makes the process easy and prevents sticking.
Baking – Crackers may brown quickly during last few minutes so keep checking often. Remove once edges turn golden.
Cool Completely – Let the crackers cool fully before storing. Warm crackers may become soft because of moisture inside container.
