Gulkand Milk Recipe

Gulkand Milk is a simple and flavourful drink made by mixing gulkand with hot milk. Gulkand is a sweet preserve more like a  jam made with rose petals and sugar as main ingredients. This gulkand milk is prepared by boiling milk and then adding gulkand to it and mixing well till it combines. It has a sweet and floral flavour which makes it feel very soothing and pleasant to drink. The taste is rich and it feels cooling because of the gulkand added.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon gulkand

Instructions

  • Boil milk then simmer for 5 minutes. Switch off.
  • Take 1 tablespoon of gulkand and add it to hot milk.
  • Mix well, pour in serving mug and serve Gulkand Milk.

Notes

  • Boiling milk – I boil the milk and simmer for few minutes to get better flavour.
  • Gulkand – I add gulkand in hot milk so it mixes well. If milk is cold it may not blend properly.
  • Sweetness – I just taste first before adding sugar. sometimes gulkand itself is enough for sweetness.
  • Serving style – I prefer serving it warm but you can also chill it and serve. Both ways it taste good.
  • Mixing well – I mix properly so gulkand blends evenly in milk. It should not settle at the bottom.
