Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk compound chocolate
  • 1 cup white compound chocolate
  • sprinklers as needed

Instructions

  • To begin with first heat a sauce pan with water.
  • Simmer, place a bowl inside. Make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water in the sauce pan. Also in addition check there is not even a drop of water inside the bowl, it should be completely dry. Add cooking chocolate, I used dark chocolate.
  • Leave it undisturbed for 3 minutes then start whisking until chocolate is completely melted. Set aside.
  • After that boil water again in the same sauce pan. Place another heat resistant bowl over it. Add white cooking chocolate to it.
  • Leave it undisturbed for 3 minutes then start whisking until chocolate is completely melted. Set aside.
  • Now lay a parchment paper on a tray then pour melted dark chocolate on it.
  • Spread it to a thin layer using a spatula.
  • We have used just 1 cup chocolate therefore around ¼ inch thickness would be good for this measure.
  • Set in fridge for 10 minutes.
  • Now add melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate. It will still be goey only but however if it becomes thick then melt the chocolate again then pour. Can't wait for chocolate bark to get ready!
  • Likewise spread it to a thin layer.
  • After that add sprinklers and silver balls. You can add any topping of your choice. Lastly set in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Gently lift and remove the chocolate bark from the parchment paper.
  • After that place it on chopping board and chop it roughly. You can even break it if you want.
  • Finally layered chocolate bark ready.

Notes

  • Use Dry Bowl – I always make sure the bowl is completely dry before melting chocolate, one drop of water can spoil the texture and chocolate may seize.
  • Double Boiler – I have melted chocolate by placing bowl over simmering water. Make sure bowl does not touch water otherwise chocolate can overheat.
  • Spread Even Layer – You can use spatula to spread chocolate thin and even. If layer is too thick it will take more time to set and may not break easily.
  • Chill Between Layers – I usually chill the first layer for few minutes before adding white chocolate. If base is too soft both layers may mix together little.
  • Add Toppings – I always sprinkle toppings when chocolate is still soft. If you wait more it will not stick properly on top.
