  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup choco chips
  • 2 nos eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • To a mixing bowl add 1 and 1/2 cups flour(maida), 1/2 cup castor sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
  • Using a whisk mix well and set aside.
  • To a bowl add 1/2 cup chocolate chips along with 1 teaspoon flour.
  • Mix it well and set aside - this is to avoid choco chips sinking at the bottom.
  • To another mixing bowl - add 2 eggs, 3/4 cup milk.
  • Then add 1/2 cup melted butter. Make sure not to add hot melted butter.
  • Add 1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
  • Whisk well until egg is mixed.
  • Gently whisk and now its ready.
  • Now add in flour mixture.
  • Gently fold in using a spatula.
  • Mix well until no fry flour is seen but make sure not to overmix.
  • Add in choco chips.
  • Fold in gently using a spatula.
  • Using an icecream scooper scoop out.
  • Line muffin liners in a muffin pan and make it ready. While you do this preheat oven at 190 deg C for 10 mins.
  • Add in the batter to each muffin liner until 3/4th of the liner.
  • All filled and ready. Add few choco chips on top. I got around 12 medium sized muffins.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 190 deg C for 20 mins. Once taken out stud some choco chips on top this step is optional. The choco chips will stick to the muffins in the heat itself.
  • Cool down on wirerack. Then store in a clean airtight container.
  • Chocolate Muffins is ready!

Notes

  • A thumbrule for all muffins do not overmix. Once the wet and dry ingredients start to combine do not overmix just fold in gently. I mostly switch to a spatula at this stage. It is ok if small lumps are seen here and there.
  • You can use either dark choco chips or milk choc chips but I used a mix of these both.
  • Always use ingredients at room temperature.
  • Use milk that is boiled and cooled. I usually do no use raw milk for most of my cooking / baking as I use cows milk it needs to be boiled for sometime.
  • Be watchfull after 18 mins - check by inserting a toothpick in the center if it comes out clean or with crumbs then your muffins are ready.
