Bajra Flour | Kambu Maavu

Bajra Flour is a handy ingredient for making roti, dosa and lot more dishes. Bajra Flour can be made at home by grinding roasted bajra in a mixer. Bajra Flour translated as Kambu Maavu in Tamil & Pear Millet in English is a healthy ingredient & more suited for diet foods.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg whole kambu / pearl millet

Instructions

  • Dry roast kambu till slightly golden.
  • Roast in low flame it may take atleast 7-10mins.
  • Cool down then transfer to mixer jar.
  • Powder it.
  • Roast it again for 3-5mins.
  • Cool down then store.
  • Serve Kambu Maavu hot / warm!

Notes

  • As we are grinding in mixie, it will be slightly coarse.
  • If you are doing in bulk,you can give in flour mill.
  • You can make millet flour the same way too.
