Aval Nanachathu | Sweet Aval | Sweet Poha

Aval Nanachathu is nothing but sweetened rice flakes with jaggery a a quick no cook version made for any festivals especially Gokulashtami. Let us learn to make Aval Nanachathu Recipe with step by step pictures and video.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup thin poha
  • 1/3 cup powdered jaggery
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 pinch cardamom powder
  • water as needed to rinse

Instructions

  • Get ready with all your ingredients. Add poha to water.
  • Rinse well a couple of times and drain. I used thin poha so didn't have need to soak.
  • Drain water completely and add to a mixing bowl - add coconut,sugar,ghee and cardamom powder.
  • Mix it well. Serve Aval Nanachathu immediately.

Notes

  • If you use thick poha soak for 2-3 mins rinse well then use it.
  • I used thin poha so by the times I rinse it became soft.
  • Serve with fresh grated coconut.
  • Add a pinch of salt to lift up the sweetness.
